Use labels and folders

See, create, rename and delete your own labels and folders, and move conversations into them.

Your own labels and folders appear in the sidebar below Trash. Gmail mailboxes have labels. Outlook and Other email mailboxes have folders.

Labels and folders you add or change in Mira change at your email provider too, so your other email apps show the same ones.

Open a label or folder

In the sidebar, select Labels or Folders to open the list, then select a label or folder. The number next to it is how many unread conversations it has. Labels inside other labels show an arrow that opens and closes them.

In All inboxes, the sidebar shows Labels and folders with one row for each mailbox. Open a mailbox's row to see its labels or folders. Selecting one shows its conversations without leaving All inboxes.

Create a label or folder

Open the list

In the sidebar, open Labels or Folders, or a mailbox's row in All inboxes.

Add it

Select New label or New folder at the end of the row. To put it inside another one, open that label's ⋯ menu and select New label inside or New folder inside.

Name it

Enter a name and select Create. A name can have up to 100 characters, and cannot contain / or \.

Rename or delete

Open the ⋯ menu next to a label or folder, then select Rename or Delete. What Delete does depends on the mailbox:

MailboxWhat Delete does
GmailRemoves the label and the labels inside it. The mail stays in Gmail.
OutlookMoves the folder and everything in it to Deleted Items.
Other emailDeletes the folder, the folders inside it, and all the mail they hold from the mail server.

Move a conversation

Open the ⋯ menu of a conversation and select Move to label or Move to folder. Type to find the label or folder, then select it. The conversation leaves the folder it was in, as Move to does in Gmail.

Search in a label or folder

Add in: and its name to a search, like in:receipts or in:"action needed". See Search your mail.
