# Search your mail

Find emails across one mailbox or all of them, with search operators.

Search finds email in the mailbox you are viewing, or in every mailbox in All inboxes.

## Search

Select the search field, or press <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd> (<kbd>Ctrl</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd> on Windows) or <kbd>/</kbd>. Results appear as you type, together with people you have emailed. Press <kbd>Enter</kbd> to open all results, including older mail Mira has not loaded yet.

Mira also offers to answer your search from your email. When it reads like a question, such as "When is the dentist appointment?", that option comes first. See [Ask Mira](https://mirahq-stg.app/docs/ai/ask-mira).

## Search operators

Add operators to narrow the results. You can combine them with words, like `from:alice invoice`.

| Operator | Finds |
| --- | --- |
| `from:` | Email from a sender, like `from:alice` |
| `to:` | Email to a recipient, like `to:team@example.com` |
| `subject:` | Words in the subject, like `subject:"weekly report"` |
| `has:attachment` | Only conversations with attachments |
| `is:unread` | Only unread conversations |
| `in:anywhere` | Includes Spam and Trash |
| `in:` | Email in one of your labels or folders, like `in:receipts` or `in:"action needed"` |

`is:unread` and `in:anywhere` work in Gmail and Outlook mailboxes. Mailboxes connected with **Other email** support the first four, and `in:` with your folders.

Searching without `in:` covers your own labels and folders too.

## Filter results

On the results page, use the filters to show only **Unread**, **Starred**, **Has attachment** or **From me** conversations.
