# Write with Mira

Let Mira draft a reply or a new email, or improve what you wrote, before you send it.

Mira can write a first version of an email, or rewrite yours. Its text goes into your composer only when you choose, and you always review and send the email yourself. Mira never sends email.

## Draft a reply

In a conversation, summarize it and select **Draft a reply**. A reply opens with **Write with Mira** next to it, and Mira writes a draft from the conversation.

To steer the reply, choose an intent like **Accept**, **Decline politely**, **Ask for more details** or **Suggest another time**, or tell Mira what to say in your own words.

## Write a new email

In the composer, select **Write with Mira** and describe the email, like "Ask Anna to move our call to Thursday". Mira writes the draft in the panel.

## Improve your text

With text in the composer, open **Write with Mira** and choose:

- **Improve**
- **Shorter**
- **More formal**
- **Friendlier**
- **Translate to English**

You can also type your own instruction, like "Make it sound more confident".

## Use the draft

Edit Mira's draft in the panel if you like, then select **Insert**, or **Replace text** when the composer already has text. Then review the email and select **Send**.

## Write a subject

Next to **Subject**, select **Generate subject with Mira**. Mira suggests a subject from what you wrote.

> **Note:** Mira writes without a signature: the composer adds your mailbox's signature. Where it lacks a fact, like a date or a price, Mira leaves a placeholder such as [date] for you to fill in.
