# Delete your account

Delete your Mira account and everything Mira stores about you.

Deleting your account removes everything Mira stores about you. Your email stays with your email providers.

## Before you start

- If you have Pro, deleting your account cancels it right away. To keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, [cancel Pro](https://mirahq-stg.app/docs/account/billing) first and delete your account later.
- To keep your Mira account but stop reading a mailbox in Mira, [remove the mailbox](https://mirahq-stg.app/docs/mailboxes/remove-a-mailbox) instead.

## Steps

### Open your profile

In **Settings**, select **Profile**.

### Delete your account

Select **Delete account**, enter your password if Mira asks for it, and confirm.

If Mira asks you to sign in again first, sign out, sign back in, and repeat the steps. Mira asks this when you signed in a while ago, to protect your account.

## What is deleted

Your profile, your connected mailboxes and what Mira stored for them, your Ask Mira chats, your connected apps, and your settings. Billing records that the law requires us to keep are kept. Nothing is deleted at your email providers.
